Amazon has reported that its Web Services region in Bahrain has been disrupted due to suspected drone activity in the area amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The company detected drone activity above its data centre facility in the AWS Bahrain region. An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the disruption and stated that the company is helping to migrate customers to alternate AWS regions while it works to mitigate the damage. The incident comes as the Middle East conflict enters its fourth week with no signs of de-escalation, though tentative signs of easing tensions have emerged. Bahrain is a region that has witnessed various attacks previously. The disruption highlights how global technology systems and infrastructure could be affected by the ongoing war in West Asia.
