The term “serverless” has become extremely common in recent years as these services have exploded in popularity. Though the term is a little misleading, as there are always servers running your code, what it aims to convey is that there are no servers that you need to manage.
As a consumer of the serverless service, your code runs automatically when it is needed and you never have to worry about patching and maintenance activities.
